Today, we saw "The Rocker" starring Rainn Wilson at Roanoke's historic Grandin Theatre. Yes, it's simple and predictable but it is darn funny and family friendly. Rainn Wilson as Dwight Shrute is the best part of the best comedy on television, "The Office," and his work as Robert "Fish" Fishman in "The Rocker" is outstanding! It is a very family friendly movie with a minimum of rough language. The biggest taboo for young'uns might be a fairly lengthy view of Wilson's glutteus maximus. If a pair of un-sexy buns played for comic rather than sexual effect is offensive send the kids for another bag of popcorn. Speaking of popcorn, the Grandin Theatre has the best--that is always our first choice for movie venues. My favorite line in the movie from Robert "Fish" Fishman: "A lot of elevators play Celine Dion-that don't make it right!" Now that is deep!
